I just bought an ACER Nitro 5 and am setting up Oculus Rift. The 3 usb sensors are OK, but the HDMI headset won't connect.

Please try to manually adjust these settings to change which GPU is used.
Use the following steps to adjust graphics processor preferences. Right click on the desktop and select NVIDIA control panel.
Select Manage 3D settings. Click Global Settings. Note: To change settings for an individual program, select Program Settings instead of Global Settings.
    Select your preferred graphics processor:
Auto-Select – Provides a balance between performance and power savings.
High-performance NVIDIA processor – Provides optimal performance.
Integrated graphics – Provides optimal power savings.
Under Settings, you can adjust the settings for each feature to meet your needs. Click Apply to save your changes.

    >>Some GX-791 ships with a video adapter cable that converts DisplayPort to HDMI. Acer determined that the current Oculus Rift VR goggles need the adapter cable to work properly. Other VR headsets available as of July 2016 did not require an adapter cable. Make sure you are using the included adapter with the goggles.
    >>It looks like you have a display port which is good, some Laptop configurations have direct GPU access via Display Port, and by getting a 1.4a HDMI compatible Display Port to HDMI adapter works.
Also, it seems that you can disable INTEL on your Laptop, however, it will disable the HDMI port too which is Intel only.  The DisplayPort is directly hooked up to NVIDIA. So I would recommend trying a Display Port to HDMI converter, the HDMI signal output must be 1.4 or up standard. 1.3 is known not to have enough bandwidth.
    >> You can also try a USB-C to HDMI adapter and it should work!
