I recently bought Acer E15, E5-576-392H, runs on Windows 10. Initially had no problem recognizing Acer S230HL monitor, but stopped recognizing a few days ago. Tried to manually "detect" with no success. Unplugged/plugged back in. Looked for monitor driver on Acer site, but there wasn't one. Tried seeing if there was a setting on the monitor, but no menu will show up without connection to pc.

Please try a simple power reset. Disconnect the charger. Please check for a battery reset PIN hole at the bottom of the device. The reset hole would have a battery symbol next to it. Insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds. Let the computer sit for 5 minutes with no power. Reconnect the charger and check the issue.
    >>If your monitor is displaying "No Input Signal" or "input not supported" message,  In fact seeing that display is a good sign the monitor is working. There are several possible causes for this error. You can also isolate the issue by connecting the monitor to another computer or, your laptop  to another monitor.
    >>Please check by refreshing the Display driver of your laptop. Use the Windows key + X and select Device Manager. Expand Display Adapters. Right-click the adapter and select Uninstall.   Click OK to confirm. Connect the external monitor. Restart your computer to complete the task,  let the operating system reinstall the driver automatically upon restart and hopefully, the black screen will disappear.
    >>If any issue persists, you can also download and install the driver for your device.
    Nvidia : Download
    Intel : Download
