It is widely reported on review sites and on these boards that this model has a buggy wifi module.

It randomly disconnects from the router, and needs to be stopped/started to get it working. Sometimes it works for hours, sometimes I can't get 10 minutes work done before it disconnects. Same problem on Linux and Windows. It is not my location or router or service provider or anything like that - other devices connect (and stay connected!) perfectly. It is the hardware. And this is widely reported.

Since the Acer people won't even acknowledge this problem, will other users please let me know what tricks they use to work around this problem?

I'm on Ubuntu 18.04. Are there extra settings or tools I can fiddle with?
