We did a complete re boot of the computer (Acer Aspire XC-780) to reinstall it but now it want us to log in with username and password. We do not understand how to get past this, we have tested all different combinations of usernames and passwords. The computer should have deleted the old username and password. How do we get past this obstacle? We have tried to reboot several times. We want the computer to go back to manufacture settings. I hope some one can help us.

    >>>You can reset your password from another computer if you sign into Windows using your email address. If your Windows login is not your email address, you can use the instructions below to reset your password.
From the login screen, click the powe  icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
Hold the Shift key while you click Restart. Click Troubleshoot. Select Reset Your PC.
Click Remove everything. After your computer reboots, click Just remove my files.
    Click Reset.
Note: This process will erase all data on your system. Make sure your system is plugged in and does not power off during the reset.

    >>>You can restore the operating system on your Acer Windows 10 computer by pressing the Alt and F10 keys when the computer starts to boot up.
Press and hold the Power key for 5 seconds to power the system off completely.
Turn on the computer and press the Alt and F10 keys at the same time when the Acer logo appears on the screen.
You should see a message that says "Please Wait" and your computer will boot to a blue screen that says "Choose an option."
    Select Troubleshoot.
    Click Reset this PC.
Pick a recovery option: Keep my files or Remove everything.
Click Next and follow the instructions on the screen.

Thanks for the respond but I have tried it several times. My problem is that once we have restored the computer to factory mode and deleted all files, etc. when it restarts, it will log into a username and password. I can not create a new user or change users. When I log in with my msn account, it does not work. I use my msn account as a user and the password of my msn account as a password. Do I do that right or should I use another account or password? Msn and Windows have the same login. I do not understand why the old user is still left on my computer when I have done a complete reset. The old login information should disappear.

From the computer that you are reading this post, slowly & carefully follow these instructions.
If you are still unable to reset your Microsoft account password, then you can purchase a CD/USB drive from here to factory reset.
