Hello,

First time posting a thread in Acer forum. Sorry for my bad English.

I just bought an old Acer XC-605 SFF. Its mainboard has an Mini PCI-E slot which is still free. Because of its small case, I'm thinking about buying a Mini PCI-E SSD for a faster experience.

I have met so many laptop with Mini PCI-E slot for WWAN card but impossible to run any mini pcie SSD because of SATA line or something else. So I really need help about if I could use a Mini PCI-E SSD on Acer XC-605 for installing OS and booting from it or not?

Thank you so much.

This works in ports designed for Wifi cards only. You do not have a PCIE SSD. Now all you have to do is make sure your port actually has PCIe lines running to it. Standard mini-PCIe slots have PCIe lines and USB lines that are dedicated to sound card, internal wi-fi adapter, SATA or USB expansion cards, GPU (runs in one lane of PCI-E).
