Triton 700 BSOD with Samsung Evo 960 1TB

As the title says, I am getting the dreaded BSOD. I have the Triton 700 model number PT715-51-71W9. The version I got had 1x 512GB ssd, which I took out, and replaced with a 1TB Samsung EVO 960, and a 240GB PNY CS2030 SSD. I am booting and using the Samsung as a main drive and I am using the 240GB for virtual machine's and storage. I keep getting the BSOD with a general Watchdog error, and the event viewer code is 0x00000133 and when I google it, it shows that its a firmware issue with an SSD. But both of my SSD's have the latest firmware. I have seen other people say that they have successfully gone the the Evo 960 drives. Of course I am on a fresh install of windows, downloaded all the drivers from Acer, and also use Driver Booster to update drivers that Acer didn't have or Acer was outdated on and I still have the same issue. It seems to happen about every half hour. So effectively my "great" gaming laptop is a paperweight since most gaming sessions go longer than 30-60 min. I am looking at returning it and getting an MSI laptop and just handling the bulk if I cannot get this fixed since I have read that Acer sucks at helping their customers. So this is my only hope to keep what I want to believe is a great laptop.

I know its "taboo" to update a Predator system with Windows/Driver booster as all of Acer's hardware is custom and therefore Acer's custom drivers work best.

Can I get a bit more info as in what type of SSDs (M.2, 2.5"?) And how you went about setting them up?
Does your system have RAID?

Did you try using the default windows driver on the sata controller?

M.2 SSD's. I removed the default 512 one and placed in the EVO 960 in slot 1, and the PNY in the Slot 2. Both are M.2 drives. After that, I insert a usb drive and installed windows on the the evo 960. Then I went to Acer website and downloaded all the drivers for the model I have, installed them, and have had the BSOD since the beginning. Then I read that it could be an outdated firmware on the booting SSD, and since the Triton 700 is stuck in RAID 0, I had to then take the EVO out and place it into my desktop verify that it had the most up to date firmware. Then since the drivers from ACER didn't seem to work, I downloaded Driver Booster and it had like 20 outdated drives that I updated. Still doing the same thing though.

I do not even get an option for the AHCI Controller since I cannot get my computer to stop thinking that its in RAID even on a fresh install since the Triton 700 BIOS is locked to RAID 0, and I have no way of changing it to AHCI. That is why I had to remove my EVO drive and place it into my Desktop to update the firmware since it had to be in AHCI to be allowed to update the firmware.

Where have Intel chipset sata raid controller try installing the default windows driver! I just gave my example so you can check if the problem occurs with the default windows driver!

are you sure about that?
under windows Disk management, how many SSD are available?
if 2...no RAID0 array is set
if 1...a RAID0 array is set

honestly i doubt you are under a RAID0 array now, your system is just using the RAID controller instead of the AHCI; this doesn't mean bad performance or other issues...is just a different controller.

the only issue can be a bad Intel SATA/RAID driver or BIOS that need to be updated.

I will try to force a bios update then. Or look into getting the programmer chip and messing with my BIOS. You are correct, I know they are not in the RAID array, but I just do not have the option to switch to AHCI

You can try what the @IronFly colleague said, updating the bios or the sata raid driver or verifying that installing the default windows driver on the intel chipset raid solves the problem with the watchdog!

If I update the BIOS with the clip chip to an unlocked BIOS will those options become available?

i don't know, be aware that you will loose the warranty.

It's either that or return it since right now it's effectively a paper weight that can be used for less than an hour before it crashes and blue screen. I've never had to go through so much to swap a hard drive, it's crazy stupid why Acee would lock it down so much and stick an entry level bioa on this thing. Like I haven't seen this type of BIOS since Vista...

I might have found the fix. I updated my BIOS apparently it was on V1.06. I updated it to the 1.10 that Acer has listed. I got the reprogramming chip in the mail, but didn't want to do it unless as a last result. So it still did the crash and I downloaded some blue screen diagnostic program and found which dll was causing it to crash. It turned out it was still my RAID controller. So I deleted it and rebooted. Well that caused my system to not boot up again, so I had to do a full reinstall. Updated the drivers that were on ACER support, and it was still happening. So I downloaded the Blue Screen Diagnostic and it was the same thing still. I then went to Intel directly and downloaded their most up to date Rapid Storage Technology (RST) drivers from them. Now instead of a RAID controller listed in my Device Manager, I have a SATA controller. As of right now my system has been running for 2 hours and 30 minutes with no issues. I am playing a movie on it right now trying to stress the system a little bit. I'll detail this a little bit more if I believe this fixes the issues.

hey friend, wanted to check up up on this. did this solve your problem? i'm getting ready to upgrade my SSDs to Samsung Evo because I'm getting BSOD with factory SSD RAID 0 setup

so was doing all the research on what could go wrong before i attempted the upgrade. thanks for an update@
