Hi, I've an Acer One 10 (S1003) and have carried out a clean windows 10 install.
Up to a point it's gone well and I have a basic running system, however most of the goodies, including the touch screen are missing.
In Device Manger there are 8 unidentified Devices - which I assume to be the missing goodies.
On the Acer Website I've identified 7 drivers that need to be installed, and this is where I need some help.
- Audio Driver
- Bluetooth Driver
- G Sensor Driver
- Acer Mode Change
- Platform Drivers Installer
- Touch Driver
- Wireless LAN Driver
I'm not having much luck getting these drivers installed and could be doing it all wrong.
By far the largest of the 7 is the Platform Drivers Installer (195.1 MB) which appears to run via a batch job intended to load a series of 20 or so *.inf files using the PNP utility. (These *.inf files cover audio, camera, touch, sensors etc, etc.) When I run the batch job the Microsoft PNP Utility fails to load any of the drivers returning the same error for each driver: Access Denied. (I've included an example of the error message below)
- Microsoft PNP Utility
- Processing inf : TXEI.inf
- Adding the driver package failed : Access is Denied
- Total attempted: 1
- Number successfully imported : 0
I've assumed that the Platform Drivers Installer, being the largest, sets the machine up and the other 6 drivers just tweak things to finish things off, so I've not attempted to install the other 6 drivers for fear that I make things worse.
I feel stumped at both ends. I'm not sure what the Unknown Devices are, and not sure how to load the drivers for them.
I'd hoped that the Platform Drivers Utility would wave a magic wand and match drivers to devices for me, but no such luck.
If someone has done a clean install of Windows 10 on an Acer One 10, I'd really appreciate some step by step instructions on how to install these 7 drivers, or some good pointers in the right direction.
Many thanks in advance.
