Hello,

I hope i can get a resolution here but i ordered a battery replacement for my Acer eAspire E5-573-77HC from Acer and my new battery arrived today and my laptop only works with the new battery when it is plugged in. I have tried uninstalling, updating and searching for new Windows 10 drivers both drivers i tried to fix were:

1 'Microsoft AC Adapter'
2 'Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery'

My laptop is also dual booted with Windows 10 and Linux Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and both of them detect my new battery however, in the charging setting both list the battery capacity as zero (0) percent and charging, but as soon as i disconnect the charger my laptop dies. I have also tried letting my laptop charge for more than 6 hours and still it says zero percent. I have even removed both the battery and CMOS battery from my mother board for thirty mins and tried pressing the power button for 10 second to see if the issue would be resolved. The issue is still present.

Luckily i have not thrown away my original battery of which i will have to place back into my laptop. I suspect Acer has sent me a dud/dead battery of which i want a refund. I have screenshots, receipts, E-mails and also battery reports and DxDiag reports ready if needed. The battery is the correct one needed for the repair center sent it to me after i gave them my laptop's SNID. The 'new' battery also listed information on its body that it was made in 2016 so the battery is technically almost three years old and further reinforced the suspicion that it is a dead battery.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, but at this stage i think a refund is best.

Sincerely,

N.S.

You must arrange for a refund or exchange thru the same repair center you used to get the battery. This is primarily an ACER users forum.  Jack E/NJ
