Hi leo5999, You can place SSD in your laptop if there is a slot for for  the SSD. Warranty will be void if there is any damage to hardware components.

You have to completely remove the bottom cover in order to install the SSD. This requires removing many screws and unclipping of the chasis. It is said that doing that may invalidate the warranty but I would like to seem them try it.

If you are not used to this thing, and you start gouging the case open with a 10mm flat blade screwdriver then you could damage the PCB. Or if you do not take precautions against static and such then that could damage it. If in doubt take it to a local laptop repair / supplier.
