Hi Guys,
I'm new here so I hope you'll patient with me and excuse my futures misspellings :-)
A weak ago I bought a brand new laptop, my first one actually, an Aspire E-5 576G with 1tb HDD, Geforce 150 MX, NO SSD and with 8gb RAM (I'm sure you know the specs better)
To get straight to the point...am very disappointed about my battery life-around maximum 3 h (only with browsing, some movies on Netflix, and nothing more). I say this because the manufacter says I can reach 12 hours...ok this is very hard to reach....but I though I will reach at least 5 or 6 hours. I've checked if I have some apps running in background but is not the case. Besides Office I didn't install anything yet...I keep by laptop on 75% of brightness and power mode:"better performance". I've also turned off location, bluetooth, sync and other features that I though can affect my battery. Results? no improvement.
My question to you is if I have enough reasons to be concerned, or this is normal? I've only read reviews about this laptop, but the SSD version and nobody had complains about battery. I think also to return this laptop and to get another one (maybe I had bad luck).
I wait your opinions and suggestions.

Thank you in advance.

You may check if your model has a 4 cell or 6 cell battery.

Hi Jack22, yestarday i tried this. I've follow the steps but I don't see any improvements. From what i've understood from this article is that calibrating you battery won't make your battery better but more accurate; this is not my case because the battery shows me the correct estimated time. :|

My laptop version is first one, with 4 cells. Its hard to believe that i can reach at least 4.5 hrs. I didnt find anywhere this info that you posted, otherwhise i would chose another laptop. Is there any possibility to change my batery with another one with 6 cells...?
    Thank you

The 6-cell Li-ion battery pack should work fine with your model. However, you may need a 3-pin 90 W AC adapter.
