hi
I’ve been thinking about upgrading my predator g3s cpu to an amd ryzen 5 2600x, in order to do that I need to buy a new motherboard witch can support amd and my question is do I need to get a new PSU to do that?

There are several different SKUs with the G3-710, your likely either has a 300W supply or a 500W. I'd think either would be just fine with a Ryzen 5 motherboard. If you do a big enough upgrade to your video card at the same time you will likely want the 500W but if using the same card then no need to change supplies.

It kinda helped me but I was wondering is the current PSU in the predator g3 is compatible with a new motherboard and the cpu (ryzen 5 2600x), because a friend of mines who is good with computers said it might not work sense it’s a pre built computer and the PSU might only be compatible  with the current build.

Which G3 do you have? Most of them use a standard ATX power supply, which makes upgrades really easy.
