My old laptop acer 4830g's screen has been flickering lately so I decided to take it apart to look for solution. After tinkering for some time it ran into the title's issue. I've tried power resetting by press holding the power button for > 15 sec; reinserting ram/any cable possible on the board but the problem persisted. Appreciate some insights for this

    Cranonacrane,

These flickering issues happens when the operating system is corrupted / due to hardware issue. I Would recommend you to do the following

    a) do power drain (remove battery & unplug the charger, then press and hold the power button for 20 secs
    b) boot into the BIOS screen( while turning on, keep tapping on the F2/del key to boot in BIOS) - Stay in the BIOS screen for some time and check whether the screen is flickering in this mode, IF it flickers - it is hardware issue - please contact local tech or Acer repair center in your region.
If it doesn't flicker - press F9(set BIOS defaults)and F10. restart the pc in safe mode networking - take backup of your data and do factory reset.
