    It's not illegal at all.
I actually have been hired by Microsoft on multiple occasions as a consultant.

I have all the features of Pro including the ones you mentioned.

Microsoft isn't a bad company, they just think about adding features equivilent to their competitors without caring about performance for those like us (gamers).

Actually home edition is totally free and even if they beta test new updates on home (free edition) is not a crime tho as you get it for $0 in return. Don't forget you use what they made and spend time, effort , experience, money and more on. People should be more appreciating what they get for free...
You are mistaken. Home is about $100+ or so. You think it is free 'cos it came with your laptop - MS charges a OEM fee from manufacturers for bundling OS into laptops, and this cost is passed on to you included into the laptop price.

"That's up $20 from the earlier price of $119. Microsoft still charges $199.99 for Windows 10 Pro. “We're always evaluating pricing across the Windows portfolio,” a Microsoft spokesman said in an email. “As of August 2018, Windows 10 Home retail in the U.S. will now cost $139.”Oct 9, 2018."

Actually I was here on this forum and this post to find solution for always power on usb but when found (or as i felt) some negative attitude against  MS this triggered me but i wasn't after any trouble or anything and idk if you will trust that I  am not a MS employee in any way at all but it really bothers that people don't appreciate anyones work these days (not just about MS tho). my work , yours  and everyones else and by work means also hobbies and interests. that's all.

Oh btw, isn't "tweaking" home edition force you to turn off updates ?

Maybe they did so to compensate what they lose from people not buying the pro and doing the so called "tweaks"? who knows ?!

    Not at all.
I just add gpedit via batch file (found on a Microsoft programmers page lol) and then tweak services to replicate Microsoft Pro.

I still recieve security updates etc.
Currently on 1809 and all is good.
