Dear,

I bought a notebook Acer Predator Helios 300 G3-572(PCI 3.0, currently Bios V1.13) and installed a ssd nvme kingspec 512GB, but this is not recognized by the BIOS and nor by the installation partition of windows 10.

In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwGX3sfX_GE the user uses the same notebook (predator helios 300 G3-572) and bought the same ssd nvme, including I bought the same by indication of this video.

I contacted the user of this video above and my configuration is exactly the same as his notebook, except that his bios is version V1.15 and mine was V1.09, I went to the acer site to download bios update and the most recent version available is V1.13. I made the update from V1.09 to V1.13 and even then did not recognize the ssd nvme.

I looked for the V1.15 version and tried to install but it gave error with the message that my notebook is not compatible with such version.
Strange that the user of the above video uses same notebook and his has the version V1.15.

I currently have an M2 Sata SSD 128Gb (not NVME) which functions properly.

Can my problem be related to the BIOS version?

    Hi,
You should avoid any BIOS versions not meant for your laptop, so in future download and install the BIOS update only from Acer site and released specifically for your laptop model.
There's a BIOS release for your model( v1.19) by Acer (Released to fix Spectre), I am sure that you know how to take precaution while updating BIOS, if you are not sure, please let us know.
I don't know whether this update will fix the current problem but it might help. Please download the highlighted version.

Have you tried going to My PC > right click > manage > on left panel "disk management" > then formatting the installed SSD?

I updated the bios to version v1.19, but the ssd nvme was not recognized. :(
    Thank you.

The SSD nvme does not appear in the disk manager, it does not appear in the bios, it does not appear anywhere.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I don't think so, Microsoft has released patches for systems running Windows 7/8 and 10 but if you are not affected by this threat, don't update the BIOS, check by downloading and running Inspectre.

That's the whole problem :-( being unable to decide... i just don't want to be forced to get to Windows 10.

I don't understand something about this post for the g3-572.

The g3-572 has a sata connector for standard spinning 2.5" hard drives (in the accessible bay).  It also has pcie nvme for the factory installed intel 600 drive.

The op said he had an operating m2 sata ssd......where the heck would one of those connect?

I haven't opened up my helios 300 yet to put in a 1tb pcie nvme ssd, but I have popped a 2.5" sata spinning hd into the secondary bay (my d drive)

Do these computers have the capability of running 3 drives???   The Pcie nvme (factory slot).....the sata spinning hard drive (accessible slot).....AND an m2 slot sata drive?  I'm trying to figure out where the 3rd port is.

Are there two nvme ports up at the main nvme bay area?

OP is looking to replace his existing M2 with NVME drive.

    @DosWasBest

Here's the scoop.  Your G3-572 has one M.2 slot but you can install M.2 PCIe NVMe or M.2 SATA.  Either one will work.

Acer has a lot of different configurations for the G3-572.  Some come equipped with an M.2 PCIe NVME drive and some come equipped with an M.2 SATA drive....etc

Generally, when you see an M keyed M.2 slot, it's going to support both M.2 PCIe NVMe and M.2 SATA drives.

Here's the specs for the G3-572

The link below shows someone who installed an M.2 PCIe NVMe (Samsung 970) and 2.5 inch SATA SSD (Samsung 860).  But he/she could have just as easily installed a M.2 SATA (Samsung 860 M.2 SATA) and 2.5 inch FireCuda.  Or whatever they wanted.

    https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/13036099

It's not clear why the OP was unable to get his kingspec M.2 PCIe NVMe drive to work.  He probably had a defective drive.   I've never heard of a kingspec SSD.

    I'm not an Acer employee.
