Hey guys today I updated my BIOS and my laptop started to overheat and my fans are ramping up and loud. Goes up to 80+c on idle. All I do is browse and it never got this hot before, but after today's v1.19 BIOS I'm getting this problem. Can someone please help?

    >> Try to perform a simple power reset and check the issue.  Shutdown the laptop. Disconnect the charger. Disconnect the external display. Please check for a battery reset PIN hole at the bottom of the device. The reset hole would have a battery symbol next to it. Insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds. Let the computer sit for 5 minutes with no power. Reconnect the charger and power On the laptop.

    >>Also, Try to reset BIOS to default settings. Start your computer and as soon as you hit the Power On button, keep pressing the F2 key. You can simply hit the F9 key to display a blue screen that says Load Setup defaults? Clicking on Yes will restore the default BIOS settings.  Press F10 to save and exit.

If issue persists, please contact Acer support in your region and check for further options to fix this issue.

80 is way too much, for idle i think 5x is max, good would be 4x.
Btw check in background manager if any program is running in the background using cpu - i had similar problem with my one of my laptops and killer networking was the cluprit.

Btw, i had similar problem in my old laptop few years ago - resetting cmos helped (i dunno if battery reset is also cmos reset in helios series, so wont help here) - nothing else helped, neither resseting to default settings, reinstalling windows or updating bios.
