I read so many articles about this, and this problem appeared to not be a model related but any laptop with aluminium parts may cause this problem. As you may know the adapter of this laptop has a 2 pronged cable which is not grounded and may cause this problem along with others such as hardware problems or earthing. My question is, did any of who own this model or similar models with aluminium trims, experience this issue and if you did, is it common/normal? and how did you fix it? because its driving me mad, getting shocked suddenly when i want to rest my hand ain't fun!

Note: something that i found weird if i put my fingers or the palm of my hand on it, it won't electrocute me. the other thing is that it doesn't always happen, most times but not all.

Hi, Yep..... I personally faced this sort of issue. I will not say exactly as electric shock. It was  low level sensation of feeling electrical current flowing through the case of the laptop. Later discovered that was due to the usage un-grounded power supply. I connected the charger to different wall outlet (which is well grounded) I haven't faced the problem yet. Some cases, it may be bad adapter also. You can try changing adapter also.

Thanks for replying, its a brand new laptop actually, used for less than 1 month. I tried to replace the cable that is connected from the adapter to the socket with a 3 pronged cable, i still feel the electrical current, not as frequent but the issue is still there for sure. Now the 3 pronged laptop cable is connected to an external socket that is a 3 pronged in and 2 pronged out type and then connected to a 2 pronged socket on the wall. Does that have an affect on the issues? what i mean is that is it necessary that the adapter cable should be connected straight to the wall socket or is it ok to have a medium (external socket) between them.

sorry if you find it hard to understand, i don't really have a background in electrical matters nor english is my first language.
