Hi, my Laptop is stuck at the ACER logo on bootup.  I've tried to unplugging the battery and power and holding the power button in for a while(left it there for about 10 minutes).  I swapped my ram slots also....still the same.  But, when I removed my harddrive and put it back it the ACER screen will actually say no boot device whether my hard drive is in or not now.  I don't get any options to go to BIOS, safe mode etc.  I've tried hitting F2, F8 Alt+F10, I get the logo and that's it.  Any idea?

So I can get into BIOS now.  BIOS does not see my hard drive.  I put some other random hard drive in and it sees it.  I'm guessing my hard drive is toast.  Now my question is, if I get a hard drive how do I get windows back on it as this came with Win7 originally.  I tried the Alt+F10 method on booting up and that doesn't do anything so far....

Make sure the old drive connector doesn't have any bent or missing pins. If none, insert the drive in and out of the connector a half-dozen or so times to try to clean up its pins. Report back. Jack E/NJ

Yep, done.  Dont see anything obviously bent or anything. I also plugged my HD into a hard drive wiper I have here at work and it couldn't even see it.  Pretty sure its done.  The other hard drive I have is blank so I cant boot off of it obviously but the fact that BIOS sees it and not there other seems like its done.

You probably can still get the original ACER-specific Win7 installation USB stick or DVD disc based on your machine's serial number id (SNID). https://store.acer.com/en-us/extended/recovery/    Price ~$45. Or, if you had previously downgraded to Win10, you can also install Microsoft's generic Win10 or Win7 version for free using its installation media creation tool https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10  or https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7  Jack E/NJ
