I have the Aspire 5 (515-51G-53MR). I bought it back in November 2017 and from the beginning it has worked perfectly fine. Recently the screen started randomly shutting down whenever I moved the screen to a better viewing angle, but I overlooked it because it as I could turn it back on by simply turning the flip down and then turning it back on from the sleep mode. For about the last week, the laptop shut offs have happened almost every time I shift my computer to a more comfortable position or even when I pick it up. I have checked online and the general consensus appears to be loose components on the motherboard.

There has been another issue with my laptop since last month. The speakers have blown out, so basically I can't listen to any audio file as the sound blows out.

The device has never had any hard knocks, falls or even water spills. I have always used with most care and under normal circumstances.

I have a one year limited warranty. Can this problem be fixed under my warranty and how do I go about sending it back to Acer for the repairs? I am currently in Pakistan but this device was bought in Canada.

First, the screen issue is probably due to a full or partial conductor trace break or crack in the video ribbon cable that runs thru the hinge area. Wear and tear from opening and closing the lid is usually the cause. New replacement video cables are fairly inexpensive.

Second, I'd first try to uninstall the audio drivers from Device Manager, exit and then reboot the machine to let Windows automatically detect the audio hardware and re-install its drivers.

As for warranty repairs, you'd have to arrange it at this link with your machine's serial number id (SNID) since it was purchased in Canada. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/CA/content/support   You'd be responsible for all shipping costs so it may not be too practical.
