Did you install the Microsoft generic Win10 version? Or did you install the ACER-specific Win10 version from the hidden ACER Win10 install partition? Jack E/NJ

Jack... it still shouldn't matter. I too lost my partition when converting from GPT to MBR, and installed generic Windows 10. My PS is all working, except that the GPU is always like TURBO mode is selected irrespective of whatever mode i select. I don't see this as an issue cos turbo speeds kick in only when needed.

@Csippar   The old HDD should've been cloned onto the new SSD to retain the recovery partition. This may be tricky if the new SSD has less capacity than the old HDD. Jack E/NJ

@sri369 I don't think @Csippar used an MBR-partitioned SSD to install generic Win10. Why did you do this to your own system? Generic Win10 should install  on a GPT partitioned SSD/HDD if  a GPT partitioned FAT32 install stick was used. Jack E/NJ

Ok ill try it. My new ssd bigger. How can i clone? With program? Because i can use only 1 M.2 ssd at same time. If i clone, the preinstalled Windows copyed too?

Bios in legacy mode does not support GPT; it supports only MBR. I some times boot up a different OS like linux via USB and do not want to update this in BIOS all the time.

You can use the software EaseUS TODO Backup Free to clone the entire drive or specifically windows.
It's completely free and allows the option to optimize your OS for SSD when transferring. There are plenty of videos on YouTube for how to use the software and I've used it for years with no negative results.

Easus as mentioned by @Red-Sand is fine. Aomei backerupper is another fine cloning freeware https://www.backup-utility.com/

Still confused? Then why not use a GPT-partitioned Linux bootstick instead of an MBR partitioned Linux bootstick? Then no need to ever change UEFI bootstrapper to legacy BIOS mode for running both Win10 or Linux

On my G3-572, when i set bios to GPT, USB boot up option is disabled. That's why. Pressing F10 at startup for boot devices does not show USB as an option.

Yes, but is the bootstick GPT not MBR partitioned? Jack E/NJ

When i was installing 7, i lost recovery since i had to convert from GPT to MBR for 7. And then i left it on MBR. So now my windows disk is on MBR.

So you are right, I have it on MBR only.

Installed Win7 too? No wonder I got confused! :)   If you got Win7 installed, why would you wanna downgrade to Win10 even if all the drivers didn't work properly? There may be workarounds. =) Jack E/NJ

Ideally, I should have stayed on 7. I mean really really. I could have Win 10 in a VM if i needed to format USB drives. Infact my laptop gave atleast 10% more performance on 7 compared to 10. But the the MS guys gave me a very good deal of $49 Windows Pro standalone license instead of $199 :-) So got back to 10 to check out the Pro.

With Pro, the good thing is that major updates that usually cause problems can be controlled. The bad thing is that maintenance support for these updates don't last as long as Win7. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet  Jack E/NJ

Right. I deferred security to 31 days (max) and feature to 365 days (max) so i may not be their scapegoat for half baked releases.
