Hi All,

I generally do not post threads. I tend to be more of a miner for what I need, but I cannot find anything related to my current issue deep in the depths of this cavernous hole of information and millions of product IDs (seriously Acer?) showing the effectiveness of the Acer engineering staff...

I own an Aspire E5-575G that will not allow me to scale my external HDMI TV monitor with the Intel HD Graphics control panel!!! I bought off NewEGG Nov 2017. And of course, I bought this laptop for the Nvidia 950M card, but most of the Nvidia graphics options are disabled. I am forced to use this silly Intel HD Graphics control panel options that is ***** and looks like a child's iPhone game app.
I cannot figure out a way to scale my display settings for my external monitor which is a nice pretty new Samsung HD LED. Can't auto detect a new samsung smart TV come on.....

I have downloaded all of the different "allowed" drivers from the ACER website and none of them allow me to do this seemingly simple thing.

I got to say, user experience people. We seriously still sell laptops that cant auto size to the external display. Maddening. Inefficient and *****. I spend more time on this laptop trying to fix this than playing games or working in Grasshopper.

Is there any way to easily do this.Or not easily. Are there perhaps third party software's that can do this.

Please let me know. I just want to use my laptop like any other laptop I have ever owned. Set up to bring to work or my brothers house, connect to TV, use laptop with wireless mouse and keyboard, and have the ability to press the freaking task bar buttons dammit, or close a freaking web page, or i dunno move any window without having to -alttab it.
This laptop was the most expensive laptop I have ever purchased for myself (not through work) and it cant scale the external monitor like a cheap ***** Chromebook from Compaq can. Really disappointing people.

Acer please redeem yourself. How the hell can I do anything meaningful with this laptop if I cant use multi display for my coding work. It is also impossible to play most games when you cant see the HUD at all. Please...

Cheers

If the physical aspect ratios of the laptop and TV screens are different, you might still have to jump thru some hoops to get want you want. With both screens on, try a few different resolutions to see if a 'keep aspect ratio' box magically appears on the intel control panel. Jack E/NJ
