Hi All,

I am having a weird problem with my acer V5 touch screen laptop.. This is a fairly new laptop that i purcahsed from the microsoft store in November of 2012. I used it may be 5 days max and it has been powered down to gift it to my sister.. I gave it to her and she is experiancing an issue..

What is happening is she takes online courses and when she is reading her class work on the laptop the screen decided to turn black and then the laptop after a while shuts down.. Not sure what is going on there.. I also noticed that sometimes there is a red dotted line on the bottom of the screen but when we reboot the laptop is fine.

I called acer and they are having me reset to factory defualts. Also i tried doing the bios update using the zip file that i downloaded from the web for laptop V5-571p and the Bios is 1.20 A A. I opened this up and there is a redme and the windows folder. inside the redme it stats this ([SOP]

i went in to the windows folder and looked and i clicked on the update bios and it game me a text error. Not sure what this is.

is there a better way to update the bios on this

also has anyone else experianced similar issues and what the porblem could be.
