Questions about Battlefield 1. Is this game poorly optimised or is the CPU a bottleneck? I notice that I'll get 80-110 frames per second on medium at 1080p yet it can drop dramatically to around 30-50 during certain points and combat. I used MSI Afterburner and the CPU and GPU are not at 100%. I have tried every setting and still happens, even on low. System has a 1070 and 16gb of RAM. CPU is i7 7700HQ. Other games seem to run fine suggesting it is a poorly optimised game. I have under volted the CPU as well and it is not thermal throttling. Current NVIDIA drivers from clean install. Also installed a Samsung SSD. Tried no v sync, v sync, fast sync, triple and no triple buffering, pre rendered frames to 1 (this just seems to make the CPU and GPU work less) etc, etc. I am at a lost as nothing stops the severe dips. I thought a laptop with these specs would run Battlfield 1 without a problem if an Xbox One X can keep a stable 60fps. Any advice or feedback would be appreciated. I know 16gb should be plenty yet would adding another 16gb help as I have heard it has helped Battlefield 1 a great deal.

Thanks.

What do you mean by "clean" install? How did you do this? From generic Microsoft Win10 installation media? Or from the ACER-specific hidden recovery partition? Jack E/NJ

Try limiting FPS @ 60 and see if that helps.
