Good evening,

I tend to normally leave my Predator 17 permanently connected to mains power when in or not in use. Lately I've been turning off the power after I go to bed and back on again when I need to use it. Just wondering if leaving it connected when switched off will eventually damage the battery. Cheers

    Hi,
It won't harm the battery but switching off the mains when not using is a safer practice to avoid damage due any power outage or lightening.

It is safe however I recommend if its ALWAYS plugged in then allow the battery to drain to 20% once every 2 months to keep battery calibration/charge cycles healthy.

At times, I feel, with manufacturers moving to sealed batteries, it would be nice to give a battery management software. I remember seeing on some Asus models where there were options like always on, on battery n such. For always on there was the option to let battery not charge beyond 80%.
