My son's chromebook is only six months old and we have an issue with the wifi not connecting and when we click on the wifi toggle it immediately turns itself off.

I did a powerwash and same issue.  Can sometimes get it to work for five minutes or so ... then it reverts to turning itself off.

Very disapointing if I have to buy a new chromebook after very little use!

Can anyone help?

It should be still under warranty. Go here to arrange for warranty repair ASAP.

Thanks ... yes I've already taken it back once because the screen came away at the hinge and was told it was not covered by warrantee as it was impact damage (even though neither my son or I are aware of any impact damage and I was there when the screen separated at the hinge)

I taped it up and it was working perfectly until now this has happened so I am sure they will try to blame this on the apparent impact damage.  I stood there telling the man at the counter that I witnessed the very moment it happened but they wouldn't budge.

I am pretty disappointed in this experience and will NEVER buy Acer again.  Waste of money!

Forget the hinge. Duct tape is fine. Don't even mention it. Wifi's the issue.  Arrange for warranty service anyway thru the webpage https://www.acer.com/ac/en/NZ/content/support   . Don't take it back to wherever you took it before.  Jack E/NJ

We are having the exact same trouble at our school; several devices refuse to connect to the internet (everything else is working fine). So I guess they should all just get shipped in for warranty?

bbeckwith   If they're still under warranty, absolutely! Enter their serial number IDs (SNIDs)  here https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support  to arrange for warranty repairs unless your school has a service contract with an ACER rep. Jack E/NJ
