I have an out-of-warranty Acer laptop, Model: Aspire M5-481PT.  I am having an on-going battle with my Spectrum ISP who tells me that I am subscribed to their 200 Mbps download speed service.  When I connect my Acer up to the Internet via an Ethernet connection (not Wi-Fi), I am measuring download speeds on the order of 75 to 100 Mbps.  My Ethernet adapter is shown as a Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet, rated at 1 Gigibit.  Should I not be able to "handle" or "support" an Internet download speed of 200 Mbps with this connection?  Spectrum contends that my computer is the limiting element in my Ethernet connection and I doubt that.

Three things to check:  1st make sure your router can handle to the 200 speed.  2nd, make sure that your computer Ethernet Adapter can handle the 200 speed.  3rd, if you have a long Ethernet cable run you will need something better then a Cat5 cable.
