Whenever i play games like fifa 18 on my predapre Helios 300 G3-572 it throws out hit air with a smell like something is burning. Is it meant to be that way or heatsink is damaged? Please help.

The burning smell could be coming from the paint on the heatsink.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

I'll need to change heatsink paste?

This smell has nothing to do with the thermal paste. The heatsink is painted in black, so it could be the paint that is giving this smell.

Necromancing post, but anyway. I'm using heavy cpu intensive tasks in the work, putting 100% usage in 7700hq for 20 minutes sessions. Undervolted mine to -125mV, it is reaching 85ºC tops. Then a coworker says something smelling burning. I thought it was nothing, then I came home and noticed that there was a real burning smell in the rear vent. Just hope it is really just the heatsink painting...
