Put your hand next to the vent. Is there any air flow? If not, you've got a problem contact the manufacturer and get it fixed before you fry something. If it is pushing air, then when was the last time you cleaned it? Dust is a laptop's worst enemy. Clean out the vents and fan. Only other suggestion is to get a cooling pad with extra fans.

You can also check the temperatures. This will tell you if your computer is running hot. For processors, a temperature of higher than 70 degrees Celsius (158 F) is worrisome. A temperature of over 80 degrees Celsius (176 F) is a sign that you should immediately stop using the laptop.
