Left Ctrl+Alt+S not working

I have a Predator 17 G9 -793. I have a use a number of programs that use ctrl+alt+s as a shortcut but this laptop does not seem to recognize this shortcut if the left ctrl button is used. Right ctrl works. I thought it might be a software issue so I tried going into safe mode. Still didn't work. I then tried swapping left ctrl and left shift using autohotkey and SharpKeys to see what happens. With the left shift set to ctrl, the shortcut gets recognized. However trying to make a shift(physical ctrl key)+alt+s shortcut doesn't work anymore. It's like the hardware itself is physically unable to recognize the shortcut. Left ctrl+alt+ any other letter key works. It's just the "s" key that doesn't.

I saw a thread from 2016 with the same problem but that had no solution. I would change the shortcuts in the programs that I use but with close to a decade of muscle memory and that shortcut still working at work I'd rather try fixing the problem first before changing my workflow. Not to mention some programs have shortcuts that can't be changed. Can anyone help? Thanks.
