Coffee spill: neither internal or external keyboard working.

Earlier this morning I spilled some lukewarm coffee on the keyboard of my Acer aspire v nitro. I powered it off, flipped it over and did my best to clean it up and dry it. I took it apart and took a peek inside and everything was clean and dry from what I could tell. A while later I booted of up to check for damage, and everything worked fine for about five minutes before the keyboard stopped working. After fiddling for a bit, I discovered that only the enter, I, and underscore/ dash keys worked. I purchased a replacement and am waiting for it to come in, but to tide me over I bought a cheap external usb keyboard. I plugged it in expecting it to work, but instead the same three keys were the only ones that worked.

Is this something replacing the keyboard will help, or is their a deeper problem? I'm a freelancer and was literally about to send the final draft of a project off to a client so I'm kind of freaking out.

  • Do these three keys also not work on the external keyboard?
