Aspire Switch 11 fefuses to boot to anything but windows

I am attempting to boot Linux Mint from a USB on my Aspire Switch 11. I have read about problems involving the switch series and booting from USB and have done all of the following:

- Used the micro-USB port on the screen itself instead of the USB port on the keyboard
- Used a GPT partition scheme (MBR does not work at all)
- Turned off secure boot in the BIOS
- Added the .efi files to the trusted files in the BIOS

With all this the two .efi files, BOOTx64 and grubx64 (either of which should boot into Mint), show up in the f12 boot menu. However, selecting either of these still boots into windows for some reason. I have also placed both as higher priority than windows in the boot order.

As far as I can tell, there is no option to switch to a legacy bios to solve this. I have also tried using 32bit instead, but this only allows for MBR partition scheme, which does not even show up in the f12 menu.

Does anyone have a solution?
