Hello,

Wondering if someone can help me.  I received my new Acer A515-51G-5504  yesterday, unpacked it, plugged it in, and then basically went through the Q&A prompts to get windows 10 up and running and register the computer with Acer, etc.
As soon as that was done, I removed some useless Apps and Bloatware (Nortons, MS Office 360, and other programs that are not system related or needed). I Essentially stripped it down to just what I want (or at least I hope that's what I did)....rebooted once again.
Then, Using Firefox, I downloaded Google Chrome (my preferred browser) and and made it my default browser and signed in to my Google account to check it out...then restarted again...

I tried using Chrome again and it was "OK" for a few minutes, but then started to bog down, and I couldn't do much more than open a tab and go to google.com...I tried a second tab, went to Yahoo.com, took 20 seconds to load, and it would not allow me to log into my Yahoo account.
I tried restarting again, and was prompted to download updates.  That was last night at 7:30PM...here we are now 24 hours later and it is still downloading updates, AT SLOOOOW pace.
I have  Verizon Fios which is generally incredibly fast, wireless router never an issue, and I've never had problems downloading at super high speeds even on my Acer Chromebook.
I guess my question is...how can I get this process to speed up?
Is my computer at a crawl due to the downloads?
WHY is it taking MANY hours to download these updates?
Is my router perhaps not compatible?
Is Google Chrome the issue?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Metro

PS: any suggestions on what else I may wish to remove (Bloatware) would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the exact same issue. I literally *JUST BOUGHT* this laptop. I haven't even installed MS Office yet because this thing is moving at the speed of molasses already. I don't want to introduce anything new until it feels like this P.O.S. can handle it.
