The symptoms are that when the power button is pressed the blue light comes on but nothing appears on the screen, this is in battery mode.
When the power adaptor is applied it has the same effect, blue light appears but nothing on the screen.
I have tried holding down the power button and the volume button for around one minute, both up and down volume keys, but still nothing happens.
Has anybody any other suggestions, or has any one had the same problem.

Disconnect the charger. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds till all lights are off on the device. Connect the charger and power On the device to check the issue.
If the issue persists, this could be an internal hardware issue, you need to contact Acer support in your region to fix the issue.

Hi, thank you for your comment but unfortunately it did not work.
Unfortunately the serial number has been disfigured so I cant approach Acer.

How old is your tablet? Still under warranty? If so then contacting Acer is the right step, if not we can get a little deeper into diagnostics before giving up. Could you verify the model number? IIRC the US SKU was SW312-31 with four more numbers or letters that told the exact build. That is a model very similar to the Switch Alpha 12 I have, except with a 1080P screen and Pentium N series processors. Problem is those designs are not easy to disassemble, so do it yourself repair can be more challenging than the typical laptop.

    Hi Bilsey,
thank you for your info, the only wording I can get from it is "NTLDREH007725018" and "MFG 2017.06" rest is obscured.
I have let the battery go flat and keep pressing the on button to see if it will reset the battery, but so far no luck.
Anything you can help with will be a bonus.
    Thanks Ken

Hi Bilsey, I bit more info, i let the battery go flat so when the on button was pressed nothing happened kept doing this every time I passed and now I plugged in power and pressed on but still nothing, but now when power is pressed without plugged in the orange light flashes four times and then goes out, and that is each time power button is pressed.  It seems to be difficult to open to disconnect battery, not like the ones ive done before.

Yeah, you might have left the battery too flat to recover. Go ahead and charge it fully then turn it on. If you still have a completely blank screen then it's likely hardware and going to need a repair. If you get a dark gray screen where when you look very closely at it you can see normal stuff, just not lit up it's the back light LED. It'll still need repair bu at least you'll know what's wrong. I kind of wish they'd have put an HDMI port on it so you could hook up an external display, but they went with the USB-C port instead, and you can't go to an external display without access to the Windows Desktop to set it up.

    Hi Bilsey,
thanks for that ill try that ive plugged it in. I have a usb "C" adaptor, an AUKEY, for my own laptop wont that plug in and give me a HDMI out to another monitor.

Yes, but not until you configure the drivers in Windows. They may do that automatically enough to get a display up and verify the problem or it may not, leaving you as in the dark as you are now. Since you already have the adapter it's well worth the test, though I wouldn't have recommended buying the adapter in order to test.
