'erecovery' problem with installing Windows 7 on Aspire L3600

I've been trying to install Windows 7 on an aspire L3600. I go all the way through the installation process and it seems to have worked - it restarts itself and I can see the desktop - then the screen fades out and the erecovery screen comes up, with a message saying 'Cannot find file: Z:\D2D\Images\*.WSI when trying to determine UI language'.

During installation I formatted the 'system' partition, but am afraid to format or delete anything else in case I do something wrong.

It's extremely frustrating, so I'd be grateful for any advice! It's second hand (got it from a friend) and I don't have recovery disks or anything.

It sounds as if the hidden partition on the drive is causing issues with the new install. A full format of the hard drive before installing Windows 7 should resolve the issue, however we can not guarantee drivers are available for all the components in Windows 7.
