Using Dual Monitors To Run OBS On Acer Predator Helios 300

Hey! I'm trying to get a dual monitor set up to work with my Acer Predator 300 so I can manage the stream on OBS in the laptop monitor, while I play the game in a separate monitor. Unfortunately, it looks like OBS won't capture the second monitor's window unless I run the monitor through the Predator's graphics card. Any idea on how I can go about getting that set up?

My set up: Acer Predator Helios 300 Spectre 27-inch curved LED monitor

Thanks!

From GPU's end, I do not think this is possible. OBS has to capture the second screen on its display, I suggest you an option. Try to right click the canvas > Projector

If you do this, you get an option to stream the second monitor content considering that OBS has detected both the monitors.

Question 1: Both the monitors are connected to a single GPU? Is the display extended? Did you mirror the display?

    Hey @RanY2J!
Thank you for the reply. To answer your question, both monitors are connected to a single GPU via HDMI cable to the Acer Predator. I can stream when they're mirrored, but if I extend the displays, I can't get OBS to capture the external monitor. I'll give your option a shot, but I've tried it once before and it didn't work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Either way, I greatly appreciate all the help!

I see, as far as my knowledge goes, both these monitors connect to the HDMI slots within the GPU so in that logic, OBS should have the settings to switch between the monitors.

Awesome! Thank you for sharing! I've actually tried both tutorials you shared with me, but my second monitor never shows up in OBS, so I can't select it. I'm not sure if the computer isn't recognizing it. Maybe there's something in the backend of the laptop that I have to do in order to get OBS to see the second monitor.

Might be ludicrous but did you try switching the HDMi cables? That might actually do the magic. Can you try?

@dfeitosa I was wondering what your dual monitor setup is. You mentioned that you have "both monitors are connected to a single GPU via HDMI cable to the Acer Predator." How are you able to achieve that? Are you using a USB 3.0 converter?
