My Acer Laptop Power LED is blinking and disconnects from charging

My Acer Aspire 5742 Laptop is acting strange. This laptop is old and we got this around 2011. The Lights on the power button, the charging indicator and the light on the left of it will blink suddenly. I also noticed that when it does that on itself, the laptop disconnects from charging even when the ac adapter is plugged in. When I unplug the charger from the laptop, the blinking lights will stop from blinking. But when I plug the charger back, it keeps in blinking and will not charge. I unplug the ac adapter and plug it again several times until the lights will stop blinking and the laptop will charge again. But when I use the laptop for a few minutes, the lights will blink again and disconnect from charging. So I put my laptop to sleep and wait until it will be fully charged(the light will turn blue). But sometimes even when it is fully charged, it will still keep on blinking. I use my laptop while charging(with the battery on) because if I use the laptop without the battery plugged in and using only the ac adapter, the laptop might shut down suddenly. How can I fix this so that I can use my laptop without this from happening again?

    Hi,
It could be the faulty adapter or the battery, but it looks like the AC adapter at fault because when you remove the battery and use AC adapter the laptop is shutting down, however, it's better to get it checked by a technician at a local repair shop.

Could you please install HWmonitor, run it and post the snip of the Battery section only like my snip.

Where can I find an AC Adapter and also a battery for our laptop? We tried to find one in a mall and the battery was so expensive(about $68) and we couldn't afford it. So I surfed the net and I found a cheaper one online in Lazada. I found one and is worth about $25. But I am not sure if this is compatible for our laptop and it might brick the laptop. Where can you buy original replacement parts for this laptop?

    Hi,
Do not buy the battery until you get the laptop checked by a technician, I am not sure whether it's the battery or the AC adapter, so please take it to a local repair shop and identify the faulty part.

    Hi,
Last November, we sent the laptop to my aunt so that the laptop can be repaired. We received the laptop at December 24. My aunt said that in the charger slot, it was loose and faulty so the technicians replaced it. But to this day, the problem is still there. I am pretty sure that the AC Adapter is the reason why this is happening. But before I buy, I will get this laptop checked first. I am planning to use a different charger of a laptop with the same brand. The laptop with the problem has an input of 1.5 A, an output of 19V and 3.42A. Meanwhile, the other laptop's charger has an input of 1.2A and an output of 19V 2.37A. Is this safe to use? If not, do you know where to buy both the AC Adapter and Battery?
