ok then you should perform a power reset and check if the issue is resolved.
Disconnect the charger. Please check for a battery reset PIN hole at the bottom of the device.
The reset hole would have a battery symbol next to it. Insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds.
Let the computer sit for 5 minutes with no power. Reconnect the charger and power On the laptop to check the charging issue.

If the issue persists, open device manager, under the Batteries category, Uninstall "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery". Then in Device Manager taskbar, click Scan for hardware changes. After device manager detects Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery component and restores it, restart your computer and issue should be fixed.

Now the problem is that when I am not connected to charger then my laptop won't turn on
Only when the lid is at a particular position then only it would turn on
As I move the lid it would automatically get turned off
    Please help

I am facing the same problem right now It usually switches off whenever I move it to a different location. It either has something to do with the internals being shaken due to outside movement, or the sudden change of the surrounding temperature, or a change in the underneath surface. May I please know how you got your problem solved?
PS: I can't give it for repair to Acer as it is out of warranty period.

Uninstall the acpi battery driver then reset battery pinhole for at least 30 seconds let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes boot into bios run setup defaults boot into windows let it install the acpi driver again and let it charge to 100% if this solves it fine if not it might be a faulty battery faulty adapter or faulty mobo send it to warranty

Okay, i just created an account just for this and this tip really worked for me.

When you will open up the RAM cover, you will see a tiny switch on the board. Little black switch. Sometimes the problem is that this switch is not being pressed correctly. This was the problem for me as well.

I just taped a little piece of paper on the rubber part on the cover which covers the RAM. This worked for me and my laptop is working like before. No shutdowns so far!

That's called the power kill switch and yes if not properly pressed the battery will not work making it shut down or black screens this is already solved in many threads around its no news 😊

I jsut got a pc not a laptop  in January. Have sent it back twice already for same issue. Restarting for no reason in the middle of something. They reloaded the OS and updated the bios. Second time I sent it back they said it was working as normal. Well here we are again and its restarting for no reason. Im soooo frustrated that I would never recommend this computer to anyone. Help
