    Hi,

first try power drain in your device.

1.Unplug the AC adapter from your notebook.
2.Turn the notebook and look for battery reset pin hole.
3.insert the paper clip and hold it for 30 - 40 seconds.
4.Turn over the notebook one last time and plug in your AC adapter.
    5.Turn on your notebook.

if the issue persist you can re-install keyboard drivers from device manager. follow the steps with mouse: Make a right click on windows icon > click on device manager > double tap on keyboard drivers > right click on the driver and click on uninstall (do not check the box to delete driver software). post this restart the unit.

I have already tried the reset but for only a few seconds so will try for a bit longer first.

Press and hold the power button till the machine completely shuts off. Then turn it back on and immediately start tapping the F2 key. Does the BIOS menu appear. If yes, press the F9 key to load system defaults. Then press the F10 key to save settings and exit. Report back with results. Jack E/NJ

OK. This time do the same thing except press and hold as many random keys as you can before you turn the machine back on. Jack E/NJ

Not good. Another thing to try. Shut the machine completely off again. Press & hold the ALT key. While still holding the ALT key turn the machine back on and immediately start tapping the F10 key. What happens? Jack E/NJ

Great. Means you're KB's OK and likely confirms it was caused by an update. So follow the troubleshoot option. You're in a factory recovery mode. So be careful not to proceed to further options that might delete your personal data. Check back if you're unsure. There may be other ways we can get things back without depending on this recovery mode. Jack E/NJ

Congrats on the fix. Double check to make sure "system protection" is enabled so update restore points are automatically created. Just in (likely) case a Win10update messes something else up again. :o Jack E/NJ
