My Aspire V5 laptop is running slower and slower.  Would reimaging help?   I've never reimaged since getting the laptop several years ago.
1. Does anyone have play-by-play instructions for reimaging?
2. Do I need to stick with the OS that came with the laptop (i.e. Windows 10 Home)?  Can I download a more recent version from the ACER support website that perhaps has more features and is more virus protected?  Are there risks?
3. I don't have an OS DVD or rebuild software.  Do I need to create an OS DVD before reimaging or do I get it online or is it on a recovery portion of the hard drive that I need to access somehow?
4. Will the process complete clean off my hard drive so I then need to add in my software again i.e. Windows Office?
5. I'm hesitant to attempt to rebuild from the backup hard drive that I've been using in case whatever is causing my machine to run so slow will come across with the recover.  Thoughts?

Any other advice (including warnings) would be much appreciated.
