WHAT!!!   You mean "WE" dont get paid for helping "THEIR" customers and helping "THEM" save money.. What a racket this is...!!  (All kidding aside I honestly like helping others to not have crapy experience that I did with Acer supprt.)

You got the spirit @bdeephoto !  The help you give customers and money you save the company will also help keep its employees happy with regular wage & salary increases whether deserved or not. For all this, you might get a few "likes" here & there --- you know, FB-type stuff. Woo-woo  =) Jack E/NJ

YES - that's what my laptop was doing.. Now that I fixed it - it has never done that again..

    Thank you very much!
I used a cut sponge to isolate this connector with the cover and now problem is gone. :)

This flicker issue has to do with a bad connector that Acer seems to want to hide this from customers.. This connector seems to be a common component used in many Acer products.  Over time It will find a way to loosen up and cause this flicker issue . This is why after sending my laptop back to Acer twice without a permanent fix and them wanting me to send it in a third time I decided to look into it myself.  In my case my laptop did not stop flickering completely till I opened the case and fixed it by inserting and attaching a spacer between the top of the display ribbon cable connector where it connects to the motherboard and case bottom so that it has no room to work itself out.  After doing this I never had the flicker problem again.

The spacer needs to be a material soft enough to constantly apply pressure to the back of the connector while not touching anything else. I cut a small piece of thin foam padding to the size of the connector and taped it to the back of the case with electrical tape. When I screwed the back of the laptop case in it just applied pressure to the back of the connector.  Since then I have had no more flicker issues.

The pic is just to show you which connection is at fault - You don't need to replace it because the replacement part is the same faulty connector. This  connector over time works its way out.  You need to  tape something to the top of the connector so that when you replace the plastic back it puts pressure on the connector so that it doesn't work its way loose again.  Read the text that goes with the picture and it spells it out for you or at lease what I did and its now fixed it permanently.  DO NOT send it back to ACER support because these guys are brain dead.  I sent my back 2 time to have it only come back not working after shipping it back. This is after I told them what was wrong..

Yesterday I did the fix as @bdeephoto described and it seems to have worked, haven't had any problems since. i'll post an update if anythig changes. Thanks for the help and information guys!!
