Disappointment on no way to limit battery level

There is tons of reports to propose limiting the battery charging level around middle in order to maximize the lifespan of battery.  Notebooks of many brands had already capable to set the charging level while surprisingly I have not seen this in Acer which is also impossible to introduce one due to hardware design.

What I see replies most are still suggesting stone-aged information like "keeping 100% battery level does not hurt the battery" or "Lithium ion battery has no memory effect" without judging the fact that "keeping middle in battery level can extend the battery life significantly".

This is one of those report you may refer: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries

That is most positively NOT what the OP was asking. Please re-read his entire post.

That said, there is currently, as far as I know, no third party software that does what you want it to do. You can try to get your hands on a copy of ASUS Battery Health Charging, and see if it will work with your laptop. Other than that, hope that either Acer comes out with their own proprietary software, or wait for Microsoft to implement it into Windows.

It seems that older versions of Acer Care Centre allowed us to limit battery charging level. But current version just doesn't. With a few google searches anyone can tell how limiting charging level can significantly help prolong battery life. Especial with gaming laptops where you keep it plugged-in all the time and battery is not removable. These batteries are surely stressed at 100% for extended period of time and deteriorate real fast. Why did Acer disable this feature? How disappointing!

The only reason is that can save less than $1 in its manufacturing cost  :/ :/ :/
