I recently purchased an Acer Laptop from The Good Guys Australia, and I was wondering if it was possible to change the 128 GB SSD inside to a 1 TB HDD. The Part number is NX.GWJSA.001 and I haven't modified nor do I plan to modify the laptop's hardware in any other way. Is it possible for me to swap the drives out by myself or do I need a professional to do it for me? I also see no way into the drive bay and I can't see the drive itself either. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

    Hi,
Do you want to upgrade 128GB M.2 SSD to a 1TB M.2 SSD? If so, the recommended maximum size is 256GB for M.2 SSD but you could stretch it to 500GB, on the other hand, you could install a 1TB HDD in the compartment available and use the 128GB M.2 SSD as a boot drive only.
M.2 SATA SSD slot is on the motherboard, you need to remove the back cover to access it, remove the screws from the back cover, use a guitar pick or an old credit card to release the tabs, then you lift off the back cover slowly, insert the M.2 SSD and secure it with a screw, put the back cover back and secure it with the screws you removed earlier.
It's not too difficult to do it yourself, prepare yourself by watching youtube videos, take your time and make note of each detail, ground yourself properly while working inside the laptop or use a antistatic wristband(like the one in my snip)
For example a drive like this is suitable for your model:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-500GB-Solid-State-Drive/dp/B00TGIW1XG
