GPU malfunction when playing certain video games

Heya! I've had this laptop for the past two years and in the past month or so it appears that my GPU has malfunctioned. During some video games (Hearthstone, Eve online) it glitches out so badly I can't even properly play the game.

I'll mention that during other games (out of the park baseball, old school runescape) it acts normally. It may be related to when my fan ended up getting so clogged up and I didn't realize it for a bit. I cleared it out, fan is running again but it may have messed up the GPU

Specs:

Operating System: Windows 10 Home

System Model: Aspire E5-573G

Processor: Intel Core i5-5200 CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2201 Mhz, 2 cores

RAM: 8GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 940M

    Hi,

Please check if the display adapter drivers are up to date. If already updated then try to uninstall them and install the drivers back. this is to test if its a hardware or software issue.

Under display adapter I have NVIDIA GeForce 940M and Intel HD Graphics 5500.

Before posting this thread I did a clean install and reset of my laptop with the latest GeForce drivers.

Intel is fine as well I believe but can't find much on that
