I have the i5-6400 gtx 970 model of the Acer Predator G3-710 I've thought upgrading the i5-6400 to i7-7700 and the gtx970 to gtx 1080ti should i get worried about the 500w power supply and is the motherboard compatible with 1080ti and i7-7700 does it have LGA1151

I5-6400 supports the same socket as i7-7700, unfortunately the BIOS doesn't support kabylake processors. You should not have any issues with GTX1080ti, except the PSU. The recommended PSU wattage by nvidia for 1080ti is 500W, but I don't know how efficient the PSU is. In other words I don't if the 500W PSU will be sufficient.

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Depends on you if you like the case, then why buy a new one?

For coffeelake CPUs you need 300series motherboard. If you want to overclock the CPU go for z370. 200 and 100 series aren't compatible with coffeelake even if it has the same 1151 socket.
