Hi - I just accidentally dropped my new Aspire 1 A114-31-C8PT Windows 10 laptop on hardwood floor. It flipped upside down, hitting flat on the top.

The computer was off at the time and thankfully there is no external damage. The screen is intact.  It booted up fine, and everything seems to be working but I am concerned that there might be internal damage that I am not aware of.

How can I check to make sure that the computer is okay? I'm so afraid that I damaged it. Should I send it in for repair if everything seems okay?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!!

Hi! Good to know that there are no external damages in the unit. For your information, physical damages & customer induced damages will not be entertained by Acer under warranty. You can use the laptop unless there is no reoccurring issues. If so,  Kindly visit the following for the support :-https://store.acer.com/en-us/

    Hi,
Go to acer care center app on the unit. you have an option to check sound, display etc and all the drivers. it will tell you if you have any issues on the unit. Good luck :)

Also, I just followed this Windows 10 article and used the System File Checker to scan for corrupt files; thankfully, it returned the first possible result "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

Thank you both for your help! Balatekie: I didn't realize the warranty didn't cover physical damage, so I'm very glad nothing broke. Christy1: I did as you suggested and checked the Acer Care Center app and everything looks good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I think I may have gotten lucky :)
