Hello
I have Aspire A715-71G-7922 with usb-c port.
I know it doesn't support thunderbolt but can I connect a hub to the usb-c port and connect external monitor to the hub?

Some systems will use a USB-C or Thunderbolt™ 3 port to output video to an external display. Use the instructions below to configure your system to output video to an external display.

    1. Locate a USB-C or Thunderbolt™ port on your system that supports video output. Please note that not all USB-C ports are able to carry a video signal. You will need to connect to a port that is labeled with one of the icons below.

    2. Use a method below to connect your computer to the external display.
    • Use a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect directly to a USB-C port on a monitor
    • Use a USB-C to HDMI cable to connect to an HDMI port on an external display
    • Use a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter to connect from a USB-C port on the notebook, to a display port on an external display
  • Change the input on the external display to the connection type that you are using. On some Acer monitors, you will need to use the DP Altsetting when connecting with USB-C.
  • Right-click an empty area on the computer desktop screen, then click Display Settings. If you are using Windows 7, select Screen Resolutioninstead.
  • Click Multiple Displays, then select your desired display option.
  • Note: Acer has not qualified third party adapters or cables, so we are unable to recommend or guarantee compatibility with third party adapters and cables.

Yes, you can connect a USB-C hub to the USB-C port on your Acer Aspire A715-71G-7922 laptop and use it to connect an external monitor. While your laptop may not support Thunderbolt, the USB-C port should still be capable of transmitting video signals through alternate modes like DisplayPort or HDMI.

To ensure compatibility and a seamless experience, it is recommended to choose a USB-C hub that explicitly supports video output and is compatible with your laptop model. Now, let's move on to the recommendation.

One option you can consider is the Mokin USB-C Hub. Mokin offers a variety of USB-C hubs that provide video output options such as HDMI or DisplayPort, along with additional connectivity options like USB ports and SD card slots. Their hubs are known for their reliability and compatibility with various devices.
