Aspire E5-523G, Win 10 v 1709. Bluetooth works but intermittently suddenly stops. Any ideas?

Often can get it to work by going into settings, switch Bluetooth off, then on again, and Bluetooth mouse or headphones, will begin working again.
Have checked and apparently I have the latest drivers installed. Have tried rolling back drivers too, but made no difference. Can find no help on the Acer Support site other than saying to check and update drivers.

Have tried running the Troubleshooter, sometimes "resets" the Bluetooth adaptor, sometimes Bluetooth disappears altogether as not installed. Have to shut down and reboot to get the damned thing to work again. Seriously over it!

Beginning to regret purchasing this laptop.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you recall the approximate date this issue began? Jack E/NJ

After purchasing this laptop 19 August 2017, as usual "out of the box" it did the usual Windows updates during set up. Was Window 10 out of the box, the update during set up was the Fall Creators update (v. 1709).

Cannot recall any specific date the issue began as it has been intermittent but would hazard a guess it has something to do with the v. 1709 update. Damned annoying, you can be doing something, like typing this and go to use the Bluetooth mouse and it does not respond. Thought it might be a mouse specific problem but have tried three different ones and same  problem occurs, again intermittently.  Also to rule out specific mouse issue, last time it stopped I tried to connect Bluetooth headphones and would not connect until I rebooted and Bluetooth enabled during boot up.

Have checked Acer support and it says my laptop model has been tested by Acer to be compatible with the Fall Creators update but I wonder?

Any suggestions appreciated as I am out of ideas other than toss this thing in the bin and buy an Asus!

Well, it's still under warranty. So if it were mine, I'd probably have to try to re-set it to factory-fresh, disconnect wifi to avoid update , and see if the problem's resolved or not --- eg rule out or rule in a hardware issue. Then make a decision on ACER warranty service. Jack E/NJ

Yes, have considered a factory reset as a last resort if can't resolve otherwise. Trouble is, the damned thing will behave nornalln for days before stopping.  Thanks for your contribution.

At least try to do a partial re-set while saving your files before the warranty expires. I'd try the ALT+F10 cold boot recovery outside of Windows. Jack E/NJ
