Do you know the name of the fd file that is designed for the BIOS of R3-131T?

Power light is on but black screen. Nothing shows when laptop powered. Not even any backlight. Connected the laptop to external monitor via HDMI but no signal. What is the procedure for flashing the downloaded Acer Bios fd file using keyboard keys?

Google "r3-131T" and ".fd" with the quotes. Jack E/NJ

if there is no signal even in the external monitor then its a hardware issue.you will have to take it to the local tech.its not the monitor issue or display issue for sure.contact the hardware dept of acer or take it to the local tech.

Thanks JackE for your quick response.
The file that came with the bios software from Acer support page for this particular model has the name CH0117.fd. I tried to flash it using an MBR-formatted USB drive with the Fn+Esc method but nothing is happening. I can't seem to get the laptop to flash the bios that way. The LED indicator on the flash key flashes only once when I power up the machine but that is it. It is supposed to keep flashing as an indication that the laptop is flashing the bios but I guess it is not working to begin with. Any suggestions?

Only the .fd file can be in the USB root directory. Then try this. Press and hold the power button for about 5 secs to completely shut the machine off. Remove the charger. Press & hold the Fn+ESC keys. While still holding the keys down, insert the charger plug. Also while still holding the keys down. turn the machine back on. Don't let go of the keys till you see significant USB LED activity. Jack E/NJ

    That didn't work either :/
Could the processor be fried? The laptop does beep when I connect the charger while the power light is on (blue)

It's more likely the bootstrapper hardware on the mainboard has been damaged. Did this happen suddenly for no apparent reason? Might want to refer to this recent post below on a possible fix if changed had recently been made to your machine  Jack E/NJ

I tried that today but didn't work either.
I was able to charge my cell phone through connecting it to the laptop USB port while the power indicator was lit. I will get it looked at by a familiar electronics store. If it turns out the repairs are high I will just buy a used replacement motherboard from the familiar online auction site for about $30. I am little disappointed that I will have to give up on the speedy processor on my laptop's motherboard; Pentium N3700 versus the Celeron N3050 that is much more prevalent.
