It implies that there is no OS to boot into. This could be caused by various issues like, a corrupt program affecting the OS or even a virus.

In this case, the first recommended option is to do a PC reset, which will reinstall the OS. But doing so will ERASE all of YOUR DATA/FILES on the device.

Now, if you do want to go ahead and do a PC reset,  please do the following.

    1) Shut down the device. (Press and hold down the power button for 5-7 seconds and it will force the device to shut down)

    2) Once it's shut down, give the device a few seconds to rest completely.

    3) Now press the power button once to reboot the device.

    4) Immediately after you press it to power on the device, without wasting a second, press and HOLD DOWN the ALT key and simultaneously keep TAPPING CTRL key repeatedly. You can let go of the keys once see the message "PLEASE WAIT" on the screen.

    5) A few seconds later, you will see a list of options on the screen. You need to select "TROUBLESHOOT".

    6) Now select, "Reset this PC"

    7) Then  it will give you two options: "Keep my Files" or "Remove Everything"

    8) While it might be tempting to select Keep my files, it will not fix this particular issue. So please select "REMOVE EVERYTHING".

    9) Then the system will give you some warning about losing you data/files and ask you to make sure the device is plugged in charging. Select OK to this.

    10) After a few seconds, it will give you another set of options, and here please select "FULLY CLEAN THE DRIVE".

    11) Then you will see 'Getting ready to re-install the PC' message.

    12) Now it will ask you confirm one last time if you want to reset the PC. Hit 'YES'.

Now the PC reset process will start. And since, we are fully cleaning the drive, it might take 2-3 hours. So please make sure the device is plugged in and charging. After the device is done resetting the PC, it will reboot one last time. After this you can go in and set up your profile as usual.

But if the above method fails, you can contact Acer customer support on phone.

Can you access the BIOS menu by tapping the F2 key on a cold boot? If yes, check to see if HDD or SSD is detected and identified in the Information tab. Jack E/NJ
