My old Acer

I really love my Acer. I bought it new a few years ago. It is the Aspire V7.
I will buy a new Acer when I can. To the point, I can't afford to buy a new one, maybe for a long time. How can I maintain my laptop, for best life? Should I be shutting it off every night, or is sleep mode better for it, long term? Is there anything else I can do?
My next laptop will be an Acer too, but that's far in the future. I appreciate any advice.
Thanks

I still have a luggable from 1983 and a 1994 laptop that still boot, of my tabs I had to replace the battery in my W3 recently but the W510 still works. Not sure about my 532h.

My point is that except for the batteries and particularly with SSDs and barring accidents, excessive sunlight on the display, or voltage spikes there is no real expected life. After all GE has had a light bulb burning for 100 years and some parts of this desktop date to the '90s.

Of course being in Florida (thunderstorm capital) everything is on UPSs and important stuff is also on a Variac. I also physically disconnect the power when not in use.

That said if I had a V7 and really, really, really wanted to keep it, I'd find a good, cheap one on eBay and once checked out, just keep for spare parts.
