I think your monitor screen is damaged. is it always in the same spot and does not go away?

You can try performing a simple power reset. Power OFF the monitor, disconnect the power and video cable. Press and hold the power button got 20 seconds. Connect the power cord, power ON the monitor and check the issue.

If the issue persists, it sounds like a TAB error on your monitor. Put some pressure on the tabs on top of the LCD where the line is and see if pressure on that changes the line. The TABS are the little ribbon cables that go from the LCD controller board into the LCD panel. A TAB error is very difficult to fix. This is where the ribbon cables enter the actually LCD. Those cables are bonded (to the panel. If that bond fails your cable no longer makes contact with the LCD panel. Sometimes some electrical tape or even duct tape may exert enough pressure to close that connection. If that does not work then there is not a lot one can do to fix it. This will of course depend on where it failed, how much has failed etc. You need to get help from a local technician to check the issue.

If the device is under warranty, you can also contact Acer support in your region and check for options to fix it.
